Google Maps Developer / Presales Engineer – Commercial Accounts / Private Sector

Hexagon is a world leader in providing Geospatial solutions, helping you make sense of the dynamically changing world. Hexagon’s Geospatial division provides the software products and platforms to a large variety of customers through direct sales, channel partners, and Hexagon businesses.

Position Summary & Purpose

We are looking for an excellent communicator who can successfully translate customer requirements into powerful use cases for Google Maps and associated technologies. This individual will work alongside sales in defining and delivering both proofs of concepts and solutions, with the ability to help drive the design, architecture and positioning of Google Maps in Latin America. This role provides technical pre-sales assistance to support of sales activities. Google certifications are a plus. Prior experience developing and/or providing presales (or sales) support for the utilities, retail, finance, insurance, or real estate sectors is preferred. You will be an integral member of our company, responsible for supporting our revenue growth in our Google technology business.

Objectives / Main Activities

  • Work with sales to identify key vertical market opportunities and develop technical demonstrations for these vertical markets
  • Gather technical requirements and end user engagement details and transform these into both an implementation game plan AND a price model/estimate
  • Understand web and mobile applications architecture involving APIs, including the ability to develop proof of concepts using Java and JavaScript languages APIs
  • Interface with our partners at Google to build relationships and to keep up-to-date with all the latest solutions they bring to market
  • Develop a deep understanding of Google’s Maps and Cloud platforms, pricing models, and business practices – and how this relates to Hexagon’s Geospatial offerings
  • Establish long term dialog with customers to support their businesses and cultivate and grow their usage of SaaS software over time
  • Develop an ongoing knowledge of common industry use cases and how Google Maps is applied to them
  • Provide technical presentations to clients, usually in conjunction with the sales team but also independently
  • Work with new and/or existing clients to define their requirements and specify an optimum solution for subsequent development and provide skills transfer where required
  • Benchmarking; develop, perform, document and assist clients with benchmarks
  • Develop technical documentation on installation, programming and software benefits for Google Maps + Hexagon technology as compares to other market offerings
  • Promote a positive company image and branding
  • Attend trade shows, seminars and user conferences; present technology papers and presentations at these events
  • Liaise with Product Managers to provide customer requirements on Enterprise Technical Solutions if required

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Tertiary level qualification in Computer Science, IT or related disciplines
  • At least 2-4 years’ experience in software development role working in a fast-paced, team-driven environment; must be able to show that goals were met or exceeded
  • Experience with API development must be within recent years
  • Proficiency in software design and development methodology and good practices
  • Java and JavaScript development experience is essential
  • Solid programming and system design skills working with modern development tools such as Java, JavaScript, .NET, C++, RDBMS and various scripting languages
  • Raster Imagery software and processing experience will be advantageous

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to present complex technical solutions to C level stakeholders as value solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team and to work independently with key clients as required
  • Comfortable talking about individual APIs while also discussing capabilities within the context of an industry solution (i.e. some customers want to talk specifics, some need the technology presented in situations)
  • Deep understanding in how to work with terms of service against customer use cases
  • Strong interface and web design skills able to create professional applications adhering to modern coding standards
  • Good understanding of client-server security environments and techniques
  • Confident working with Enterprise client IT personnel and managers to determine software architectural and design needs and to help propose sound programming solutions
  • Demonstrated project planning and specification and estimation skills, together with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to develop realistic project plans
  • Knowledge of location intelligence/geospatial industry is an advantage

Additional Desired Skills

  • 3+ years of experience with Google partner ecosystem and/or technology
  • Experience with sales of products that have metered, consumption-based pricing on a pay-as-you-go model

Sales Account Manager – Commercial Accounts / Private Sector

We are expanding our Commercial Sales Team and looking for a smart, fun, and technology-minded sales professional with experience in software sales and account management who can help us continue the growth of our Google technology business in Brazil.
 
We are looking for a results-driven individual who will successfully execute their own individual sales strategy that focuses on the long term delivery of Google Maps and associated technologies to technology customers. The ideal candidate has a track record that excels in a fast-paced sales environment with teammates and possesses excellent self-organization skills. We are looking for someone with a passion for technology and with an ability to build positive, long term customer relationships. You will be joining an established team of experienced Sales Executives and Account Managers and will have access to resources and guidance to help you achieve and beat all your goals!

This position requires a proactive, communicative self-starter skilled in creating a close working relationship with prospects and key customers, as well as with Hexagon’s marketing and presales teams. You will be an integral member of our company, responsible for growing revenue in our Google technology business. Candidates should have experience with software subscription sales, with preference given to those with experience in selling into retail, finance, banking, insurance or real estate. An understanding of how to sell pay-as-you-go models is imperative, with Google-based sales preferred. You will need to also be exceptionally responsive to customers’ business needs, challenges and expectations, with excellent presentation skills. You will preferably be a graduate within a Business-related field and be able to demonstrate that you are a high energy, motivated self-starter.

Your Profile
