Jetson announced that Sir Peter Beck, founder and CEO of Rocket Lab, has become the owner of a Jetson ONE personal electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.

For Jetson, it’s powerful validation from an engineer whose career has been defined by rewriting the fundamentals of modern aerospace. Sir Peter pioneered the Electron rocket, one of the most successful and prolific launch vehicles in history, and is currently developing Neutron, the world’s largest carbon composite rocket. Now he’s embarking on flights of a different kind as he joins the Jetson community.

The combination of Jetson ONE’s distinctive design, compact architecture and intuitive flight controls left a powerful impression on Sir Peter following his first flight experience in California recently, and he immediately knew he wanted one.

“Some customers make us particularly proud,” said Stéphan D’haene, CEO of Jetson. “Pete has spent his life pushing the boundaries of what is possible in aerospace. When somebody like that comes to experience the Jetson ONE, feels how naturally the aircraft responds to the controls, looks at the engineering and says ‘I want one,’ it means something very special to our entire team.”

For Jetson, Sir Peter’s decision represents a particularly meaningful endorsement of the philosophy behind Jetson ONE: making personal flight simple, intuitive and exhilarating.

“Watching somebody of Pete’s caliber experience the aircraft is incredibly rewarding,” Jetson founder and CTO Tomasz Patan. “As an engineer you can spend years solving problems nobody else ever sees. Then someone gets into the machine, takes the controls and immediately understands what you were trying to create. That is a very special moment.”

Sir Peter’s Jetson ONE Founders Edition has been delivered and is expected to be airborne by Christmas, pending regulatory approvals.

“Even as someone who’s spent a lifetime building complex flying machines, it’s not often you get to experience new technology as special as this,” said Sir Peter. “Flying the Jetson ONE was a revelation – the simplicity, the responsiveness, the sheer joy of flight. When an engineering team manages to take something as complex as vertical electric lift and make it feel effortless and intuitive from the cockpit, you know they’ve built something truly exceptional.”

For Jetson, Sir Peter becoming an owner represents something larger than another customer delivery. It demonstrates the appeal of personal flight to people who themselves are building the future of aerospace.

“The people we admire most are the people who build,” said D’haene. “Pete builds rockets and spacecraft. Tomasz built Jetson ONE. They are very different machines, but they come from the same fundamental belief that engineers shouldn’t accept the limits of what already exists. That is why this particular Jetson ONE means so much to us. Seeing another aerospace innovator choose the aircraft is incredibly rewarding validation and a reminder that sometimes the best way to understand Jetson ONE is simply to fly it.”

The announcement comes just ahead of UP.Summit 4-8 Nov 2026, at Kennedy Space Center, Florida where Jetson will join leaders from across aerospace, transportation and mobility.
