Want to map out in advance where to find the latest geographic information system (GIS) innovations at the ESRI International User Conference? Getting oriented for the August 7-11, 2006, event will be easy, thanks to a free online seminar from ESRI’s online Virtual Campus.
ESRI events marketing manager Wendy McKinney will host Getting the Most out of the ESRI User Conference, which will air July 20 on the Internet at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., Pacific time.
McKinney will provide an overview of the conference, which draws more than 13,000 people to the San Diego Convention Center in California. She will explain how the agenda is organized and talk about notable events on the calendar, including the August 7 plenary address by ESRI president Jack Dangermond and his question and answer session on August 11.
McKinney will talk about the workshops users can attend and showcases they can visit, including those for industries such as defense; health and human services; and public safety, law enforcement, and homeland security. She will also point out where people can register for the 5K Fun Run/Walk, dine downtown or at the convention center, and find the Internet Café and Message Center.
All attendees are welcome to watch McKinney’s online orientation, though it’s particularly useful for new guests or people returning after an absence of several years.
A broadband Internet connection and an ESRI Virtual Campus membership are needed to watch the seminar. Becoming a Virtual Campus member is free, and it only takes a few minutes to register.
After the live presentation, the seminar will be archived and available to see anytime on the ESRI events Web site.
