Chancellor Jorge Taiana and the representative for the EU Commission of Foreign Relations, Benita Ferrero-Waldner met at San Martín Palace aiming to foster bilateral cooperation, last November 6th, 2006.

A Joint Communication of the meeting has been generated, over viewing the different themes of common interest and among them appear the negotiation progress to reach to an agreement of the participation of Argentina in Galileo EU programme.

The Argentinean’s involvement in Galileo program would represent a significant impulse for industries and scientific-technological cooperation with Europe.

For 2007-2013 period (VII Frame Programme period), the cooperation would strengthen two high priority themes on social and economic sectors. The scheme would intent to stimulate education oriented to job opportunities and to support SMEs activities.
