ESRI will host a free Web seminar this January that will teach Microsoft .NET developers how to build applications using ArcGIS Server 9.2.
Building Applications with ArcGIS Server for the Microsoft .NET Framework will air on the Training and Education Web site at www.esri.com/training on January 18, 2007, at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 3:00 p.m. (Pacific standard time).

ArcGIS Server 9.2 is a complete Web-based geographic information system (GIS) developer platform for building server applications that can be used by a variety of computer clients. While the software provides excellent out-of-the-box functionality, users often decide to customize applications. This online technical seminar will focus on developing applications with ArcGIS Server and the Web Application Developer Framework (ADF) for the Microsoft .NET Framework. Viewers will learn how to leverage GIS Web services from a variety of providers such as ArcGIS Server, ArcIMS, or Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Web Map Services (WMS).
Attendees will also learn how to quickly and easily build applications using Web ADF templates and Web controls that are integrated into Microsoft Visual Studio 2005. Advanced .NET developers will find out how to extend GIS Web application capabilities by building custom tools that integrate with the Web ADF.
The presenter will discuss:
• Web ADF controls and templates for Microsoft .NET and Visual Studio
• Multiple resource model of the Web ADF
• Building server components for a custom map tool
• Using client callbacks (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML or AJAX) with the Web ADF
This seminar was designed for Microsoft .NET developers who want to work with ArcGIS Server 9.2. They should be familiar with Microsoft .NET 2.0 and Microsoft Visual Studio 2005. A basic understanding of ArcGIS Server 9.2 software will also be helpful.
