The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is mulling launching of ‘megha tropiques’ satellite to study climate in collaboration with France, the government told Rajya Sabha today.

Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh while replying to a question said that the satellite will provide data on atmospheric humidity, radiation budget and amount of precipitation to help in climate study. "India and France are jointly developing the scientific payloads of ‘megha tropiques’," he said.

The Megha-Tropiques Mission (MTM) is a collaborative effort between French Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales (CNES) and ISRO.a
