International Land Systems (ILS), Inc. announced it will transition, effective immediately, to the Thomson Reuters brand name. Thomson Reuters acquired ILS in July of 2011.

ILS offers integrated web-based solutions that enable government clients to provide better governance, enhance revenues and transparency, plan for food security and better manage natural resources. The company works directly with governments at all levels – local, regional and national – and also with international bilateral and multilateral donor agencies.

Following its acquisition, ILS became part of the Tax & Accounting business unit of Thomson Reuters and its new government segment. The ILS division is dedicated to serving organizations around the world within this newly formed segment.

“The decision to transition the ILS name to the Thomson Reuters brand is strategic from a global standpoint,” said Bill McKinzie, senior vice president and general manager of the government sector for the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters. “Although both companies enjoy a solid reputation and are widely respected among international communities, the Thomson Reuters name and its global network of 55,000 employees and offices in 100 countries around the world offers ILS even greater access and support. This is another step forward in the process of strengthening our position as a global leader in integrated land administration software and services. We recognize that identification, documentation, and assessment of property and land rights are necessary for governments to grow and we are excited to be able to offer these services to all of our customers under a single brand.”
