Every year I joke about this, but it seems that the year only begins after Carnival, in Brazil. Here in Curitiba, even a New Year’s Eve off-season party happened last Saturday (March 3) to celebrate the “The official beginning of the year”.

Here in MundoGEO, we are working at full steam since the beginning of the year, we already launched the new MundoGEO magazine, printed and in digital form, we already have the Spanish version almost ready, the full program of MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica is almost finished, but it seems that some things “got started” only at the end of February and Carnival.

Happy New Year! The webinars, for example, only began with the last week event about the change detection with Erdas Imagine and RapidEye images, which was a successful registration number and participation. Now companies are already scheduling their webinars for 2012.

MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica expo will take place in May 29 thru 31 in Sao Paulo, was also kind of “slow” but things have changed and the demand for stands is “thriving”. Companies from Brazil, USA and even China, that were new to us, now have already contacted us or booked their spaces.

Job opportunities

The number of vacancies also increased last week. Before Carnival, MundoGEO published in the database of opportunities, a job offer every two days. Last week, there were nearly two jobs per day.

Anyway, I wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year!
