Quality of the content, integration with social nets and focus on Latin America makes MundoGEO a gathering point of the geospatial community

MundoGEO, leader in the organization of events and publication of magazines and web portal for the geospatial industry in Latin America, has reached an all-time record visits to the web site, with 7,902 people in October 16, 2012, a positive response to the team effort in producing quality content and investing in social networks. The previous record was approximately 7,500 daily visits on May 2009.

Launched in 2001, the web portal is a space for the geospatial community, with sections for daily news, companies guide, event and courses calendar, online magazines, vacancy archive and discussion forum, all in Portuguese, Spanish and English. The web portal has undergone some changes and, in late 2010, was reformatted using WordPress, the most popular and efficient platform in the world for the creation and maintenance of web portals.

“We are delighted with the recent visitation record at MundoGEO Web Portal, which shows the growing interest in the field of geospatial technologies”, celebrates Eduardo Freitas, editor of the portal. “In addition to the growth in Brazil, MundoGEO gets increasingly more visits from other Latin American countries, placing the portal as a leader in media and communications for the geospatial sector in the region”, he concludes.

The search for information about events that MundoGEO performs, whether in person or online, also increased the frequency of visitors to the web portal. Only this year, more than 50 webinars have been organized, with an average of 650 attendees per session, plus the MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica event, which attracted more than 3,350 people in June, in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
