Experts discuss about the new prospect of geospatial dataThis International event takes place in June, in Sao Paulo (Brazil)

In June, several geospatial industry experts will discuss the main novelties and changes about the use of the geospatial data in society. The MegaTrends Seminar takes place in June 18th, at the Frei Caneca Convention Center, in Sao Paulo (SP), during the MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica 2013 – Conference and Trade Fair for Geomatics and Geospatial Solutions. Representatives of large companies, such as Google, and several international institutions, will attend the event.

“The geospatial sector is experimenting a time of intense changes, with new technologies becoming reality, and changing the way how people seek and visualize the data”, affirms Alexandre Scussel, Editorial Assessor of MundoGEO. “Last year, MundoGEO#Connect event presented the geospatial trends for the upcoming years, and once again, in 2013, it brings representatives of important institutions and companies to predict the future of geospatial technologies”, he concluded.

The MegaTrends Seminar will start at 8:30am, along with the official opening of MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica 2013. The first group of lectures, in the morning, will present about the Infrastructures Spatial Data (IDEs), both the international and national initiatives.

The president of one of the most important institutions in the sector, the Global Spatial Date Infrastructure (GSDI), as well as a representative of Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), another important international geospatial entity of the sector, will attend the event.

In this seminar, it will also be discussed the challenges of mobile, cloud and big data in organizations; and the Rural Environmental Cadaster (CAR in Portuguese), in a lecture that will show the revolution of geospatial data in field and about the environment, carried out by Izabella Teixeira, minister of Environment in Brazil. The future of the Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) will be discussed; and also Cadaster and Geospatial Data Infrastructure in the Americas, in a session that will feature representatives of important geospatial organizations of LatinAmerica.

All lectures of the MegaTrends Seminar will have simultaneous translation into English, Spanish and Portuguese.
