Four courses on GIS and Imagem Processing are already available. The new platform was presented during a webinar for more than 600 attendes
MundoGEO, the Latin America leader in integrated solutions for media and communication for the geospatial and location insdustries, officially released its e-learning geospatial platform. The official launch took place on Thursday (8/8) during a webinar attended by over 600 people. The presentation was made by George Serra, trainer and senior consultant in geomarketing and geospatial tecnologies, and Eduardo Freitas, editor of MundoGEO portal and magazine.
After months of research and development and studies about the market needs, MundoGEO presented its new professional training platform. MundoGEO Online Courses aim to meet a demand for practical online training, with massive interactivity and an open schedule. With the inauguration of this new platform, MundoGEO has now a complete media solutions and communication channel with a magazine, web portal, webinars, MundoGEO#Connect Conference and, from now on, online training.
“MundoGEO e-learning platform offers to the geo community a new education channel that complements the communication platform of the company. This project is aligned with the MundoGEO mission, which is to connect professionals to the geospatial solutions,” says Eduardo Freitas.
The main features of the new platform were presented during the webinar, and is based on a virtual learning environment. With four initial courses already available, the platform allows the student to study from anywhere with a flexible schedule, so everyone can make their own agenda. In addition, the students have instructions and support for downloading and installing sofwares; quality content with certified instructors; concepts and videos, and direct interaction with tutors and between learners.
The new MundoGEO e-learning platform initially offers four options:
• Introduction to Geographic Information Systems – Practice with ArcGIS;
• Introduction to Geographic Information Systems – Practice with Quantum GIS;
• Introduction to Digital Image Processing – Practice with ArcGIS;
• Introduction to Digital Image Processing – Practice with Quantum GIS.
