This Monday, October 7th, Cigma 2013 – Geography and Environment International Conference will be broadcasted directly from Mexico City. This event is organized by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) in association with the United Nations (UN).

Featuring the slogan “Geography and environment for decision-making”, the conference aim is to bring together national and international experts, representatives from the public administration and also from the various sectors of the community, interested in land management, environment and interactions with society.

The broadcast will start at 9am (local time, 2pm GMT), with lectures by: Stefan Schweinfest, Director of the Statistics Division of the United Nations; Vanessa Lawrence, CEO of Ordnance Survey Executive; and Eduardo Sojo Garza Aldape, President of Inegi. After that, Jack Dangermond, Esri president, will talk about “how far the Geographic Information Systems will go.”
