The GEO Business team has announced that the Association for Geographic Information (AGI), have come on board as a collaborator of the event taking place in London, UK, from 28-29 May 2014, joining other leading industry organisations including the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES), the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and The Survey Association (TSA).

The AGI exists to represent the interests of the UK’s geographic information industry; a wide-ranging group of public and private sector organisations, suppliers of geographical software, hardware, data and services, consultants, academics and interested individuals. Since its formal inception in 1989, it has built up a significant membership base and established itself as the respected voice and membership body for everyone with an interest or involvement with geographical information.

Event director Versha Carter commented on this recent development that they have been discussing with the AGI for some time how they could become involved with GEO Business and feel that their participation and commitment to the show adds another dimension ensuring that the whole geospatial community is catered for. She added she is very much look forward to working with the AGI and welcoming them to the Committee.

Anne Kemp, Council Chair of the AGI said they whole heartedly support the GEO Business event and feel that the involvement will not only help to enhance the programme but it will also offer AGI members a platform from which to do business with the whole community. Kemp is looking forward to this event that will bring together the entire geospatial industry and by collaborating with other leading organisations like the TSA, RICS and ICES there will be a real sense of unity.
