The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA’s) Office of Coastal Management has recently completed the development of a new online mapping tool for the Great Lakes that will give decision makers, resource managers, and community members information on future lake levels. The NOAA tool illustrates the scale of potential flooding or land exposure at a given water level on Lakes Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie and Ontario.

The development of this tool was funded by the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, which was launched in 2010 to accelerate efforts to protect and restore the Great Lakes.
