EUROGI invites all types of stakeholders in charge of subnational SDIs, at any level, of any size and from any regions of Europe, to participate in the Best Practice Awards 2011 competition. Online applications are due by 5 September 2011.

The application should be submitted by the organisation responsible for the SDI or one of the partners in the initiative. SDIs must have been operating for a minimum of 12 months, and they must be web-based.

The assessment process includes the ‘SDI Self-assessment framework’ (SDI-SAF) tool for collecting information needed in performing the assessment. All information collected will be published in the SDI Best Practice Database after 12 October 2011.

The evaluation is based on the SDI-SAF indicators by a Jury including members with various SDI experiences and backgrounds. Two of the Jury members will be from those organisations selected to receive the awards in 2009.

Assessment criteria include quality of the datasets and services, datasets and services rising rate, degree of networking and partnerships, sustainability, number of users and meeting user needs, and technology.

To participate, fill in the online SDI Self-Assessment Framework by 5 September 2011 from the website.
