Trimble today, May 23th, introduced two new products as part of its Connected Site model – the Trimble® R7 System with Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) capabilities and the Trimble MultiTrack Target for both passive and active optical targeting.
These new positioning products are part of Trimble’s portfolio of solutions that are designed to work together to provide a seamless and streamlined workflow for all of the critical phases of surveying.
The Trimble R7 GNSS System is a multi-channel, multi-frequency GNSS receiver and UHF radio in one compact rugged unit. The receiver and internal UHF radio are protected from water, dust, and shock inside the unit’s metal jacket.
Powered by R-Track technology, an enhanced Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) engine, the Trimble R7 GNSS now supports both the next-generation GPS L2C and L5 signals and Glonass L1/L2 signals.
With flexible separate antenna options, the Trimble R7 GNSS System can be used with the Trimble Zephyr Geodetic 2 ground plane antenna as a base to minimize signal multipath.
The Trimble MultiTrack Target is a premium target designed for flexibility and robust survey performance. The new accessory for the Trimble S6 Total Station or Trimble VX Spatial Station can operate as a normal passive prism or as an active target, making it the first of its kind in the surveying industry.
The Trimble R7 GNSS System and Trimble MultiTrack Target are available for order now through the Trimble survey dealer network. The Trimble R7 GNSS system is expected to begin shipping in late June 2007 and the Trimble MultiTrack Target is expected to begin shipping in early June 2007.
