Lilium has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NetJets that will allow the sale of eVTOLs to individuals and companies, as is currently the case in the business aviation market. NetJets will have the right to purchase up to 150 Lilium Jets.

NetJets operates the world’s largest fleet of private jets and intends to complement it with eVTOLs, especially in Florida and other parts of the United States, as well as in European countries. The company is expected to help scale Urban Air Mobility (UAM) in these regions.

Adam Johnson, CEO of NetJets said: “We’re delighted to partner with Lilium’s experienced team to provide sustainable flight services to our customers. Lilium’s aircraft will expand our fleet options and provide our customers with a new and flexible means of private air travel.”

The agreement will allow NetJets to choose a range of configurations of the Lilium Jet aircraft according to customers’ needs, whether in terms of the number of passengers – four to six – or the type of service offered.

Also part of the partnership is FlightSafety International, which will provide products and services, such as  immersive and mixed reality training devices, and crew training to support Lilium Jet operations.

Daniel Wiegand, co-founder and CEO of Lilium said: “We couldn’t be happier to collaborate with NetJets and FlightSafety to electrify this market and hope to forge a long-term strategic partnership to bring high speed regional electric air mobility to the world.”
